Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is situated on a 107 acre site which includes the environmentally sensitive Kossuth Bog. The 25,000 square foot facility includes a 10,800 square foot indoor tropical garden featuring thousands of free-flying butterflies.
The conservatory also hosts a variety of tropical plants, birds, and animals, along with several water features. Witness butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and take their first flight, followed by a walk-through of our mounted and live-insect galleries.
This is a great opportunity to get an introduction to the facility. It's a great place to take children and grandchildren sometime, for an outing to help educate and keep them busy!
Schedule
During the self guided tour staff will be available at various stations (for example the Larvae hatching display) and others to answer questions and give guidance for viewing.
Once finished in the Butterfly Conservatory we are free to visit the live insect (Snakes, Spiders) and others in a separate area.
This is a great opportunity to get an introduction to the facility. Once completed the tour you can visit the Gift Shop to pickup a souvenir!
