PROBUS CLUB OF CAMBRIDGE 2021 ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
On Wednesday Sept 1, 27 Probus members and three guests participated in the Annual Probus Golf Tournament at the Grand Valley Golf Club.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, this year’s event did not include a post tournament dinner and awards ceremony as in past years. Nonetheless, perfect weather, congenial fellowship and spirited competition made for a great day. Many thanks to Grand Valley folks for their support.
The lowest scramble format team score for the tournament was 68, two under par. This score was shot by two teams:
Team 8: Bernard Marchant Brian Marchant Mike Pengelly Miles Lauzon
and
Team 7: Dan Clements Rad Bazzul Hank Nykamp Jim Kavanagh
However, by virtue of having a lower score on the predetermined tie breaking hole No.18, team 8 is the winner of the much prized Probus Golf Trophy for 2021
Skills contest winners were Bob Mitten for closest to the pin on hole No. 5 and Roland Gangaram (guest of Raymond Morrissette) for longest drive on hole No. 12.
